The maximum number of IP sessions and policies an instance can support is determined by the license and available vRAM, just as it does for hardware models. To ensure high performance, it's recommended to use a license with at least 2 vCPUs. It's not allowed to import license to a virtual machine with greater vCPU number than the license specifies.The following table lists the FortiWeb-VM BYOL licenses and the supported vCPU number. The FortiWeb-VM BYOL licenses specify the size of the virtual appliance you can deploy. If you don't have a partner, contact for assistance in purchasing a license.
For the BYOL order type, you need to buy licenses through Fortinet partners. FortiWeb on Azure supports BYOL (Bring Your Own License) and PAYG (Pay As You Go) order types.
